Dr. Nyasatu has been in active service primarily working in both inpatient and specialized outpatient clinics and in the critical care settings. Among these clinical setups there is the infectious disease clinic which primarily caters for HIV and TB infected individuals and the adult medical outpatient department which caters non-communicable diseases. She is incharge of the Diabetes Unit at KCMC. The exposure and managerial responsibilities to these clinics have made her realize the vulnerability in the long-term management among these patients. It is worth noting early on that both these illnesses present with various degrees of systemic immunosuppression and therefore treatment has to be individualized.
