Josephine van de Maat

Josephine van de Maat is a medical doctor and postdoctoral researcher in the department of infectious diseases and global health of the Radboudumc. She performed her PhD research in the field of clinical epidemiology in the Erasmus MC – Sophia Children’s Hospital (Rotterdam) and holds a master in International Health from the Royal Tropical Institute (Amsterdam). Before her scientific career she has worked for several years in clinical practice, including a period in Malawi.

Within the PROTID project Josephine combines her passion for, and expertise in research, patient care and international health. She has a special research interest in clinical decision support, respiratory infections and antibiotic stewardship and in qualitative research methods. In the PROTID consortium Josephine is part of the Radboudumc team focusing on project management, training and dissemination.
